Using GuardDoc

GuardDoc is a service provided by GUARDDOC LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17345112 ("we", "us"). GuardDoc helps UK small businesses generate cyber security and data protection policies. By creating an account you enter into an agreement with GUARDDOC LTD and agree to use the service for your own business, to give us accurate information, and to keep your login details secure.

Policies are AI-generated, not legal advice

The policies you receive are generated by AI based on the answers you give us. They are intended as a practical starting point for your business. They are not legal advice and should not be relied on as such. If you have specific legal or regulatory questions, please speak to a qualified solicitor or compliance professional.

No guarantee of certification

GuardDoc references the UK government's Cyber Essentials scheme and NCSC small business guidance, but we are not a certification body. Using GuardDoc does not guarantee that you will pass Cyber Essentials or any other certification or audit. Certification requires a separate assessment by an accredited certifying body.

Payment and subscription

GuardDoc is sold on an annual subscription of £49 per year, billed in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews each year on the anniversary of your sign-up date, at the price advertised at the time of renewal, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. After cancelling you keep access to GuardDoc until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods. If something has gone wrong, please email us at hello@guarddoc.co.uk and we will do our best to put it right.

Your content and your policies

The answers you provide stay yours. The policy documents we generate for you are yours to edit, print, share inside your business, and use as you see fit. You are responsible for reviewing each policy and making sure it accurately reflects how your business actually operates before you adopt it.

Limitation of liability

GuardDoc is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, security incidents, regulatory penalties, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or your use of the policies we generate. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will let you know by email or through the app before the change takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
